Our Approach to Floristry at Flowertastic Waterford
At FLOWERTASTIC, I believe beautiful flowers and thoughtful choices go hand in hand. From selecting seasonal blooms to exploring different floral mechanics and packaging options, I continually review how I work and the materials I use.
Seasonal Flowers & Sourcing
I love working with seasonal flowers and foliage, choosing Irish-grown blooms when available and suitable, alongside carefully selected flowers from trusted suppliers.
Floral Design & Mechanics
Where practical, I use traditional floristry techniques and materials such as moss, birch, wire and reusable containers. Floral foam is still used where needed to achieve the right design, structure and longevity.
Packaging Choices
I continually review the packaging used for my bouquets and floral arrangements, considering presentation, practicality and the materials involved.
Water & Flower Care
Good flower care is central to my studio practice. I pay attention to water usage, flower conditioning and storage to help maintain freshness and minimise unnecessary waste.
My approach is simple: beautiful floristry, considered choices and a commitment to continually learning and improving.
🌸 Composting - We compost all organic waste, including flower cuttings and leaves, to reduce landfill waste and create nutrient-rich soil for future flower growing.
🌸 Reusable Containers - We encourage the use of reusable containers and vases, offering a return and reuse program for our customers. You can also bring your own beautiful vases or dishes for us to create something special for you!
🌸 Our Sustainability Aim for 2025 - Local Sourcing - We pledge to source more of our flowers locally whenever possible, supporting local growers and reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
These practices reflect our dedication to sustainability and our belief that beautiful floral arrangements can be created without compromising the health of our planet.
